We currently have 46 out of 50. Air Abrasion

Air abrasion is a drill-less technique that is being used by Dr. Romano to remove tooth decay and for other applications. A fine stream of particles is aimed at the decayed portion of the tooth to spray away decay. The particles of decay are then “suctioned” away. Air abrasion offers reductions in noise, heat, vibration and sensitivity with many patients requiring little or no anesthesia.

Arestin

ARESTIN^® is a locally administered antibiotic that is used along with deep cleaning. (scaling) It kills the bacteria that scaling can’t reach. This delays the bacteria from returning as your gums heal.

DIAGNOdent

Digital X-rays

Digital Radiographs (X-Rays) enable us to detect cavities in between your teeth, and determine if you have gum disease. We also examine the roots and nerves of teeth, diagnose lesions such as cysts or tumors, as well as assess damage if trauma occurs. With digital imaging, exposure time is about 50% less compared to traditional radiographs and are visible on screen almost instantaneously.

Intra oral Photograph

The intra-oral camera allows the patient to see what I see during my examination The tiny camera takes detailed photos of the teeth and gums, highlighting decay, cavities, receding gum lines, and other issues and projecting these images onto a computer screen. The images allow patients to make informed decisions about their dental health

Laser Dentistry

Laser Dentistry helps us to make our treatments and procedures even more precise and effective. Lasers are used in conjunction to root planing and scaling so the removal of plaque and calculus is more effective. We also try to use Lasers as much as possible in conjunction with restorative treatments, it helps to clean the tooth area effectively and make procedures more precise.

Oral Dna Testing

Studies show that periodontal infection is related to systemic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes & some forms of cancer. Dr. Romano is now performing Oral DNA testing which helps detect the bacterial causes and genetic trait of each individual patient. Since each patient and each periodontal infection is different, with the OralDNA test we know exactly which antibiotics will work best for each patient. There are two tests we can do. Both are done in our office and are quick, non-invasive, and painless. The first, MyPerioPath, identifies which of thirteen commonly associated bacteria are causing your infection and how numerous they are; many times, more than one bacterial presence is to blame. The second test, MyPerioID, uses genetic markers to determine if you are more susceptible than most people to gum tissue infections.
